Madame Tutli-Putli

A stop-motion animated short film by Montreal filmmakers Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski. The film takes us on an exhilarating existential journey to the imaginary world of Madame Tutli Putli. La Poste - Pliages

A superb paper folding stop-motion commercial for La Poste, the mail service of France. The ad was directed by Edouard Salier for the Parisian agency BETC. The animation was made at Paris-based creative studio, Digital District. The background score of this fantastic advertisement was composed by Amadou & Mariam of 'Sabali' group.

The ad showcases the efficiency of the postal service of France, from traditional mail delivery to banking and delivery of goods bought online. Keeping in line with the subject everything in this commercial is made up of paper - paper postman, paper landscapes, houses, human figures, cars, skyscrapers. The ad starts with a paper envelope unfolding itself making way for the postman through suburbs and then a modern city touching all the services offered by the postal company.

A Short Love Story In Stop Motion

A beautiful emotional stop-motion animation short movie written and directed by Carlos Lascano in 2008. The music score was composed by Sigur Ros.

The story starts with a little girl sitting in a classroom, painting a picture of her house. Suddenly a couple of birds drawn by her escape from her artwork and take us through the journey of the life she dreams of.

The thing to notice is that the character style changes with time capturing the passage of time more vividly and also giving the entire film a taste of difference.

Barrel of Fun

An episode from the Pingu series, produced in 1990, featuring Pingu the penguin and his friend Robby, the seal playing with a barrel.

Robby found a barrel that is half covered with planks, like a sledge near some ruins. Pingu comes around and he and Robby play with the sledge-barrel. They go down a long and winding hill twice - almost crashing into a sculpture both times. Third time they lose control and Robby falls off and Pingu crashes into the sculpture which collapses over him, trapping him inside. Robby goes for help, and gets an emergency paramedic and they both rescue Pingu.

Zlydni

A humorous Ukrainian cartoon by one of the best animators in the world, Stepan Koval. It is a Plasticine animation made in 2005.

The story is about a farmer and the three 'zlydni' - trouble, misery, poverty, who took shelter in his house and made his life miserable. His jealous neighbors enjoyed seeing him in trouble. You'll have to watch the film to know how he got rid of the zlydni.
